Kamil Krawczak is a native of Poland who has lived in the west of Ireland since 2002. He decided to remain in the west
after falling in love with Galway city and its unique culture.
He first became interested in photography in the pre-digital age of 1997 when he commenced training with the well known and respected photographer and journalist Jerzy Lech. As Kamil used manual cameras, he also developed and printed his own black and white photographs,
having built his own dark room space within which to work.
Since moving to Galway Kamil has developed his skills as a professional photographer. He has worked alongside established photographers such as Tadhg Keady from Keady Communications and Louis Carr. To meet the demands of today’s market, he has moved over to the use of
digital equipment and since then has gained eight years experience in digital image processing. His passion for photography is evident
in the volume of experience he has built up since 1997. He has had numerous exhibitions held locally in Galway city and county.
His high impact images portray this passion in their ability to make the viewer stop in the moment and think twice about what they are looking at. While continuing to work as a professional portrait photographer, he also envisages a future in specialized architectural, street and PR photography. Kamil’s work includes being part of the media team for the Volvo Ocean Race 2009. Three of his photographs were chosen for the official Volvo Ocean Race Exhibition. His photos on Panoramio (Google Earth) are one of the most often viewed photos of Ireland and Galway and his work is also published on official United Nations Human Rights website.
His most recent work includes being chosen as the official photographer for the International Human Rights Defenders Conference in Dublin Castle. He was also recently commissioned as a camera man and video editor for future Irish movie "Blood, Sweat and Wars".
